Patrick Roy Autographed & Inscribed “The Save”
Patrick Roy became well known for his competitiveness as well as his superstitions. Throughout his career, Roy insisted on not skating over the blue line and made a habit of talking to his goalposts.
In the 2002-03 season, Roy became the first goalie in league history to reach the 1000-game mark. When Roy retired on May 28, 2003 he held the record for most regular season games (1,029) and playoff games (247).
Roy’s determination was evident during the 1992-93 playoffs when the Canadiens set a playoff record by winning 10 straight overtime games. In Roy’s rookie season of 1985-86 he led the team to a Stanley Cup victory and earned the nickname ‘Saint Patrick’ for his heroics.
Roy has inked his signature and inscribed “1986 SC Champs” in black paint pen. Roy’s signature and inscription were witnessed by a UDA representative using our Five-Step Authentication Process.
