Roy was the youngest Conn Smythe winner ever at the age of 20 in the 1985-86 season after an unexpected Stanley Cup® win for Montreal. Roy was an extremely fierce, focused, and aggressive competitor who stood on his head in numerous Stanley Cup® playoffs.
The William M. Jennings Trophy is awarded to the goaltender playing for the team with the fewest goals scored against in regular-season play. Roy won the award in 1987, 1988 and 1989. In the 1992-93 season, Roy set a record with ten-straight playoff overtime wins, a testament to his competitiveness.
