Wayne Gretzky

Wayne Gretzky’s NHL playing career spanned 20 seasons, but his greatest seasons came as a member of the Edmonton Oilers. As an Oiler, he was named the NHL’s Hart Memorial Trophy winner as the league MVP 8 seasons in a row and the Art Ross Trophy which is awarded to the league’s top scorer 7 seasons in a row. During a six-year span, the franchise won 4 Stanley Cup Championships under the exquisite performance of the ‘Great One’ team captain Wayne Gretzky.

Beginning in 1979, the G.O.A.T (greatest of all time) Wayne Gretzky began rewriting the NHL’s record books as a member of the Edmonton Oilers. Gretzky bombarded opposing goaltenders with nifty moves and assertive slap shots. His slap shots lent a hand which allowed him to score 50 goals in the shortest amount of games (39), and score the most goals (92) in a season as a member of the Oilers.

When Wayne Gretzky retired from the NHL he won 31 individual NHL Awards as well as four Stanley Cup Championships, all with the Edmonton Oilers. Throughout his career he played for four teams, the Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings, St. Louis Blue and finally the New York Rangers.
