The New York Rangers selected, Alexis Lafrenière, from Saint-Eustache, Quebec, with the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NHL Draft. This was the first-ever virtual NHL draft in the 58-year history of the league.

The 18-year-old Lafrenière at the time was leading the QMJHL with 112 points (35 goals, 77 assists) in 52 games when the season was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Lafrenière had 114 goals, 183 assists and 297 points in 173 games over three seasons with Rimouski.

Lafrenière earned CHL rookie-of-the-year honors in 2017-18 and CHL player of the year last season and joined Crosby for this honor when he won the award a second time in 2019-20. These two are the only players to ever win back-to-back QMJHL MVPs.

Lafrenière has autographed this “Draft Day” 20 inch x 24 inch designed image in black paint pen. His signature is deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated’s Five-Step Process.

Upper Deck Authenticated guarantees the authenticity of Lafrenière's signature on this item through its five-step authentication process. At the heart of the policy are the requirements that each signing be witnessed by an Upper Deck employee, and matching serially numbered holograms affixed to each signed item and its corresponding certificate of authenticity.
